Why ayurvedic consultations are important?

Ayurveda is an ancient Indian science emphasizing a holistic health and well-being approach. Its main aim is to maintain the optimal health of a healthy individual and cure or control the disease of an ill person. Ayurveda teaches us how to live in harmony with nature, which includes following a healthy lifestyle, consuming a balanced diet, maintaining good bio-rhythms, and achieving balance in all aspects of life.

According to Ayurveda, the human body comprises three primary pillars or doshas: Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. These three doshas are derived from the five natural elements that sustain the universe: earth, fire, water, air, and space. Each dosha has its own physiological and psychological functions and unique qualities that contribute to individualism. When two or more doshas combine, a dual-doshic person is created, and the predominant doshas determine an individual’s distinct physical, physiological, and psychological characteristics.

A consultation is a comprehensive analysis of an individual’s Prakruti, which refers to their innate psychological and physical makeup, and vikruti, which refers to their current imbalanced state. This analysis involves the use of various diagnostic tools to identify an individual’s prakruti and vikruti, including dasha vidha pareeksha, astha vidha pareeksha, pulse diagnosis known as nadi pareeksha, and tongue diagnosis known as jihva pareeksha.

Dasha vidha pareeksha involves examining a person’s pulse, body type, digestive strength, exercise stamina, tolerance, and body build to determine their condition. Astha vidha pareeksha, on the other hand, involves examining eight factors, namely pulse, urine, stool, tongue, eyes, skin, voice, and body build, to determine an individual’s vikruti.

Nadi pareeksha is a pulse diagnosis technique that involves examining the pulse on the wrist to determine the state of the individual’s doshas. These three fundamental energies govern the body and mind. Jihva pareeksha, on the other hand, is a tongue diagnosis technique that involves examining the tongue’s color, shape, and coating to identify imbalances in the individual’s doshas.

Ayurveda greatly emphasizes digestive health as a crucial component of overall well-being. According to Ayurveda, a healthy digestive system is essential for maintaining a balanced state of health and preventing various diseases. The Ayurvedic approach to digestive health involves maintaining a proper balance of digestive enzymes, optimizing the body’s natural detoxification processes, and consuming foods that promote healthy digestion.

Recent scientific research has also established a link between gut and brain health. The enteric nervous system, sometimes called the “second brain,” consists of millions of neurons located in the walls of the digestive system. These neurons communicate with the brain via the vagus nerve, sending signals that affect a range of bodily functions, including mood, cognitive, and immune functions.

In light of these findings, it is clear that maintaining good digestive health is essential for overall health and well-being. By adopting a holistic approach to health that considers the importance of digestive health, individuals can improve their overall health and reduce their risk of a range of health problems.

Consultations are essential for identifying an individual’s prakruti and vikruti, which is crucial for developing a personalized health plan to restore balance and promote overall well-being.
